Ramu Sabar’s lot of paddy turned into ashes
Jamshedpur: Misfortune? Accident? Or some clever trick by someone? No one knows. But, the sudden turn of events have left Ramu Sabar, a resident of Tangrain village into a deep lurch. He has lost all that was supposed to support his and his family’s life.
Ramu Sabar of Tangrain village worked hard as a farmer. He had taken Akshay Munda’s land on rent for paddy farming. Akshay Munda too is a resident of the same village. Ram Sabar’s hard work bore fruits. He reaped around 50 mounds of paddy crop. He was happy. So were his family members. Continue reading

Jamshedpur: Sukurmani Sabar is struggling for life. Had the volunteers of “Yuva” not shown a sense of urgency in rushing her to the government hospital, she could have died in her village.
Sukurmani Sabar of Tangrain village is struggling for life in MGM Hospital.
Sukurmani has had an abortion seven months after conception and was in a very serious condition. Her condition was deteriorating due to continuous bleeding. She did not tell anyone about her problem. But, when her condition worsened some of the villagers contacted Yuva volunteers and she was rushed to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur. Continue reading

Jamshedpur: 37 children of four government schools in Potka block were taken on a educational trip to Adarsh Vidyalaya Manpur. This exposure visit of school children was organized by Youth Unity For Voluntary Action (Yuva), Jamshedpur under “Shiksha Se Parivartan” Scheme.
Children of four government schools of Potka planting trees at Manpur Middle School. The children were on a visit to Manpur Middle School as a part of educational trip organized by Yuva.
The children included in the educational trip belonged to Nachosai Middle School, Chakri Middle School, Tangrain Middle School and Hariyan Middle School.
The programme was organized with the help of Educans, Development Focus and SPAR.
The purpose of the visit was to apprise the children with the functioning of Bal Sansad in Manpur Madhya Vidyalaya, so that they too could form such a Bal Sansad.
The children of Manpur Middle School welcomed the visiting children.
Jamshedpur: Savar children do make cheap workers. The reason is – they make no fuss and can work very hard. And this is the reason why the villagers of the adjoining areas of Tangrain take the Savar children to their home to employ them in their farms and use them for their domestic work.

Yuva, with the help of Asha For Education, had opened a school – Kislay – for educating the Savar children. And while the Yuva volunteers are trying hard to encourage the Savar children of the area to attend the school regularly, the villagers of the adjoining villages are luring these children and their parents to turn them into “Dhangars(child workers)”. This is causing a lot of problems as far as smooth running of the school is concerned. Continue reading
Jamshedpur: As scheduled and announced, Savar Community School – ‘Kislay’- a dream project of Yuva, was inaugurated today on May 23, 2011, formally by Mrs. Anita Devi, vice-chairman, East Singhbhum District Council. A large number of people from Savar community, Savar children, Yuva members and guests were present on the occasion.

Mrs. Anita Devi, vice-chairman, Zila Parishad, formally inaugurated the school by cutting a ribbon and in her address applauded the initiative of Yuva for bringing the Savar children back to education mainstream.
Jamshedpur: The ball has started rolling, finally. Work has now begun on starting a school for Savar children in Savar Nagar, Tangrain, Potka of East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand in right earnest. The special school for Savar children would be inaugurated on Monday, May 23, 2011.
The school would be named as Savar Community School and it would cater to the educational needs of Savar Children. The aim would be to persuade and enable the Savar children to join the mainstream of education and start attending government-run schools.
