Jamshedpur: Yuva Jamshedpur organized a seminar on World Book Day here in its library at Makdampur, Jamshedpur.
While addressing the seminar, the founder of Yuva Jamshedpur, Mr Arbind Tiwari said that books make us better human beings. The words in a book add to our knowledge and wisdom
He said that everyone should read books beyond their course and syllabus. Only books and a healthy reading habit can make us better citizens. He said that books not only contain the history of mankind, but also shape mankind’s future. He said that electronic media can never replace books and therefore it is highly important that everyone preserves the habit of reading books.
Conducting the seminar, Narendra Kumar, treasurer, Yuva Jamshedpur, said that it is disappointing to see that children are spending more time in use of electronic gazettes, while they don’t spend time in reading books. He underlined the need to encourage children to start reading.
Sumit Kumar said that Unesco started celebrating World Book Day from the year 1995, while Indian government started organizing this from 2001.
Those who took part in the seminar included Avinash Kumar, Chandan Kumar, Rahul Kumar and others.
