Jamshedpur: Yuva, Jamshedpur members today celebrated their 17th foundation day here on January 12, 2013. They also paid rich homage to Swami Vivekanand on his birth anniversary.
17 years back, on January 12, 1996, Yuva Jamshedpur was founded by a group of youths to mark Swami Vivekanand’s birth anniversary. The lamp of social enterprise that was lit on that day has been spreading its light till today.The foundation day function started with lighting of lamp before Swami Vivekanand’s picture. Arbind Tiwary, a founder member of Yuva, Jamshedpur lighted the lamp along with other members.
A discussion was also organized on the occasion.
Treasurer of Yuva, Narendra Kumar, and other members were present in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Arbind Tiwary, emphasized the need to carry on the lamp of social awareness and enterprise. He said that young people are the most important asset for any community, society or nation and it is only appropriate that they discharge their responsibility with full vigour.
Treasurer of Yuva, Narendra Kumar, stressed the need to implement different projects taken up by Yuva in the best possible manner. He also called for chalking out more projects in newer areas.
Yuva members also held a discussion on this occasion and discussed the progress of different projects among themselves.
Yuva members took a pledge to work harder and more vigorously to improve the social conditions of the deprived communities.
Yuva is contemplating to start several new social projects in the coming days.
