Chhota Govindpur resident, Thakur Murmu, 9 year-old boy, is suffering from bone tuberculosis. Due to fracture in his legs, he is unable to walk without support.
His father Viram Murmu has expired two to three years back. His mother Singo Murmu sells Hadiya (local brew) to bring up her three children. Arvind Kumar Tiwary, founder of YUVA, who is also his teacher, has admitted the boy to MGM Hospital for treatment.
If not treated now, Thakur Murmu may be disabled for the rest of his life. There is threat to his life as well. If any doctor, social worker or public representative wants to save his life, please contact Arbind Kumar Tiwary on (+91) 9430391884.
Background:: Thakur Murmu is a class IV student in Janata Middle School, Chhota Govindpur. He was not coming to school for the last four to five months. When he finally came after 5-6 months, he was limping with the help of a cane. On being asked, his mother said her son had been walking like that for the last six months. His knees are swollen. She performed jhar-phoonk (superstitious tantric rituals) for her son’s recovery. Message was also given to Thakur Murmu’s legs, but nothing really worked. On being asked if he had been to a doctor with his problem, she said ‘no’.
According to Arbind Tiwary, next day, he took Thakur Murmu to MGM Hospital. After examining his X-ray report, the doctor said the bone in the boy’s thigh was fractured. He also suspects it could be a case of bone tuberculosis. Thakur Murmu is admitted in MGM Hospital for the last one week. He has been asked to purchase medicines and undergo various medical tests at his own expense.
Thakur Murmu hails from a very poor family. He needs immediate and proper treatment which does not seem possible in MGM Hospital. It is a humble request to everyone to do anything that is possible to help in proper treatment of the ailing child. This act of kindness will give a new lease of life to the child.
